Medicare For All Update

The average Massachusetts family now pays over $32,000 a year for healthcare, and total state spending hit $83.3 billion in 2024. My opponent chairs the committee responsible for reining in these costs, and it hasn't worked. We are paying more, not less and we're paying the wrong people. Instead of immediately creating the full operational framework, the redrafted Medicare For All bill will now establishe a special universal health care commission. I'll fight to keep pushing H. 5590, the redrafted bill that recently advanced out of committee. Of course they waited until the very end the formal session. But it is still significant because this is the first time in 30 years the bill has moved at all. And the financial savings are staggering: the economic analysis done by MassCare shows that “switching to single payer would eliminate $54.53 billion of unnecessary spending.”
